Villa Julia - Agriturismo Archeologico Pompei

Located on a promontory at the foot of Vesuvius, the city of Herculaneum stretched over a vast area of about 20 hectares for a population of about 4,000 inhabitants. At the time of the great eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, in contrast to Pompeii which was buried by a rain of ash and lapilli, Herculaneum was overwhelmed by a cloud of fiery pyroclastic flows solidificatisi that led to the perfect preservation of furniture, furnishings, fabrics and other plants.
